Meet our founder!

Nadia Aparecida Bossa got a PhD in Psychology and Education from the University of São Paulo (USP) in 2001. Her thesis “School Failure: A Symptom of Contemporary Revealing the Singularity’‘ was based on the integration of fields of knowledge about brain, mind, culture , and Education.  For 10 years she researched the effect of school on the brain, of culture on education, of education on school, in a reciprocal relationship.
She studied for a doctorate at the Institute of Psychology and at the Faculty of Education at USP, so that she could investigate a multifaceted phenomenon, which complexity has the dimension of life itself. In the creation of her thesis, which required ten years of research and theoretical construction, she sought to illuminate the interdependence between uniqueness and culture, unveiling this symptom that still haunts contemporaneity: school failure.
She holds a Master’s degree in Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUCSP), with the dissertation “A Psicopedagogia no Brasil: contributions from practice”, completed in 1993, having obtained the maximum grade with praise and support from CNPq.  She also took a specialization course in Psychopedagogy at PUCSP (1986/1987), and after that a Specialization in Neuropsychology at the Institute of Psychiatry at FMUSP (2007 to 2008) which residency and improvement in Neuropsychology at the Institute of Psychiatry of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FMUSP2008 / 2009). In the year 2014 ingressed Pos-doc in Neuropsychology Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo.
The specialization course in Neuropsychology  in IPQ focused on assessment and remediative intervention in Psychiatric conditions, while at Santa Casa the course was linked to the Neurology outpatient clinic, thus addressing neuropsychological damage in cases of neurological, congenital diseases and acquired, as well as in surgeries. She graduated in Pedagogy (1982) and Psychology (1986).
In the academic area, she was Professor and Supervisor at the PUC / SP Psychology Clinic for 17 years. She served as a course coordinator and professor at the Methodist University for 15 years.  She was coordinator of Post-Graduation Lato Sensu and Stricto Sensu, at the University of Vale do Paraíba for 5 years. She was a Guest Professor and Collaborator at universities: Federal de Uberlândia UFU, Federal de Rio Grande do Norte, Federal de Paraíba UFPB and PUC / MG in Poços de Caldas.  She participated as a Collaborating Professor in the preparation of projects for undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of Pedagogy, Psychology and Psychopedagogy and Neuropsychology at universities in several states in Brazil.  She has extensive clinical experience as a psychologist in the clinical area, in psychopedagogy, and in neuropsychology and as a supervisor of clinical care at the Center for Studies and Psychological and Pedagogical Care CEAPP since 1995. She has a long history of participating as a guest speaker at national and international congresses.  She has published several books through the Artes Médicas and Vozes publishers, as well as articles in scientific journals.
Her books address topics such as psychological, psychopedagogical and neuropsychological diagnosis and intervention in cases of learning difficulties, school failure, mental disorders and psychopathologies in childhood and adolescence.  She has produced several videos, distance learning courses and has a YouTube channel with videos that aim to guide parents and professionals on topics of psychology, psychopedagogy and neuropsychology.
She is currently a professor at the University of São Caetano do Sul, teaching, guiding and supervising internships in the Psychology course, in the area of ​​Neuropsychology. She also performs at the same USCS University the role of Coordinator of the Neuropsychology Laboratory, which provides Neuropsychology assessment and rehabilitation services for the elderly.  In 2019 she assumed the position of visiting professor at Florida Christian University, acting as Coordinator of the Academic Master’s Degree in Neuroscience.

“In 2020 I obtained from the US government the “Alien with Extraordinary Skills” visa.  So, today I am a permanent resident and I hope to be able to continue working to make a difference and alleviate the pain of the soul.  It seems to me that this is a difficult visa to obtain, something around 0.01% of those who apply. It is a great recognition of a journey of dedication and studies.”
